Study: Warm Weather Affects Eating Pathology

In 2002 a study was done by Denise Sloan at Temple University studying the effect of warm weather on eating disorders.  She studied undergraduate women in Florida and in Pennsylvania.

Her results?

Women residing in the warmer climate of Florida had significantly lower body weight, engaged in more frequent bulimic behaviors (e.g. binging) and displayed significantly greater concern regarding body shape compared to the Pennsylvania population.

Why do you think this is so?
