Illustrating Stages of Adult Development
Introduction: As adolescents interact with adults and approach adulthood themselves, it is important for them to know and understand the realities of adulthood. Knowing the stages of adult development can help adolescents better understand the adults with whom they interact and maintain a positive attitude about their own aging process.
Task: Create a photo essay that uses photographs and captions to illustrate and describe the three stages of adult development: early adulthood, middle adulthood, and late adulthood.
Procedure:
1. Decide whether this will be a scrapbook type format or PowerPoint.
2. Create sections in your photo essay that address early adulthood, middle adulthood, and late adulthood.
3. Choose the changes, challenges, and opportunities in each adult developmental stage that you want to illustrate in your photo essay.
4. Select photos for each developmental stage. You are welcome to use family photos or to take your own photos.
5. Remember that men and women go through stages differently.
